Our Next Monthly Meeting:

Monday December 21, 2020 5:00pm

at the Precinct Office, 31 Walnut Place.

Our Water Supplier, the City of Keene, has issued a voluntary outdoor water use restriction.

This includes the North Swanzey Water & Fire Precinct.

The Precinct was established in 1936 to provide water for domestic purposes and fire protection. We receive our water from the City of Keene through master meters located on Monadnock Hwy., Old Homestead Hwy., Swanzey Factory Road, Matthews Road, and West Swanzey Road.

The Precinct does not treat our water. Surface water from Babbidge Reservoir in Roxbury is disinfected at the Keene Water Treatment Plant. Wells on Court and West Streets supply water as well.

We maintain our water mains and hydrants, meter use for billing, and share that data with the Town for Sewer billing. We test for bacteria at two locations monthly.

The elected Commissioners of the Precinct are the Governing Body. An Auditor, Moderator, Treasurer & Clerk are elected as well. Our Annual Meeting is held in March and the voters of the Precinct at the meeting are the Legislative Body. The Water Superintendent is the Primary Operator of the Water System.

Feel free to contact us at (603)352-2338, or stop in at the Precinct Office at 31 Walnut Place, Swanzey NH. Our mailing address is:
